This MACHINES is used to make rolls of long PU Foam sheets for use in foam laminations & other applications. The MACHINES has a band knife rotating on a set of two wheels. The knife is continuously sharpened by a set of polish grinder wheels to give a sharp cutting edge. The knife is guided by a strong knife guide which has hardened high carbon steel plates for a long life. The block is first bored in the centre, so that a mandrel can be inserted in the foam, which acts as the rotating axis during peeling. The mandrel with foam block is put on a set of pillars which can take it up or down. During cutting the block is driven on its diameter by a roller which rotates at a preset speed. The block rotates on its axis & comes down continuously at a pitch selected by a set of gear combinations, thus giving a continuous spiral cutting. The cut sheet is wound on a take up roll winder with a paper core. The MACHINES panel has a digital counter for length reading in meters & cutting speed in meters/minute. It is economical to peel round blocks of foam than square ones.
